A project of the Pew Research Center has released survey findings which show that 75% of American adults are active in a voluntary group or organization, and that Internet users are more likely than others to be involved in such activities.
Pew’s Internet & American Life Project reports that 80% of Internet users participate in groups, compared with 56% of non-Internet users. Users of social media are even more likely to be engaged, with 82% of social network users and 85% of Twitter users as group participants.
