Celebrate African American History Month at the Living History Museum Feb 18

87696529History comes alive in this tribute to African American heroes!

In this “museum”, the exhibits come to life! Children in 3rd through 8th grade will portray their favorite African American heroes and share their  inspiring stories with you. Learn about civil rights heroes like Dr. Martin Luther King and Ruby Bridges. Meet the immortal Jackie Robinson and hear his triumphant story. Don’t forget to say hello to Althea Gibson, the ground breaking star tennis star and the “female Michael Jordan”,  woman’s basketball legend Sheryl Swopes. Two great heroines of aviation will be on hand: Bessie Coleman and  Willa Brown. Lots of performing artists will be “on stage” too, including  Janet Collins, (ballerina) Andre Watts (classical pianist) and Clark Terry (jazz trumpeter) Pioneers in medicine and science will sahre their lives and knowledge with you too. There’s something for everyone at this unique event. All ages are welcome to attend, no reservations required.
