Read the Summer Issue of “PV Kids News”
After attending a “Tell Your Story” workshop on August 4 at the Palos Verdes Library District (PVLD), a group of 24 local elementary school students has published the Summer 2012 PV Kids News. The 16-page newsletter contains summer Olympics coverage, movie and book reviews, and a “Story Corner” consisting of short fiction. The young authors who attended are all 4th and 5th graders with a passion for writing.
The PressFriends community service group conducted the workshop, which was co-sponsored by PVLD. Laura Henry, PVLD’s Young Readers Manager, conducted a special story telling session as part of the afternoon’s activities. The 13 PressFriends mentors who facilitated the workshop are middle and high school students.
