Calling all kid journalists, ages 6 to 16 …  Write an article on any topic that you think elementary school kids would like to read — and submit it by July 20 — and you just might get it published in the summer issue of the PV Kids News.

Although the free Summer Newswriting Camp, co-sponsored by PressFriends and the Palos Verdes Library District, is now full and can no longer accept more sign-ups, don’t let that stop your journalistic juices from flowing!  Research and write a short article (between 150 and 250 words) or a movie review (on a G or PG-rated movie), type it up, and send it to info@pressfriends.org

All submissions must be received no later than July 20.  PressFriends, a group of middle and high school students who volunteer their time as journalism mentors, will read and edit all the articles they receive. Although PressFriends cannot promise to publish every article they receive, they’ll do their best to include as many as possible in the next PV Kids News.  A limited number of print copies of the newsletter will be distributed at each of the three Palos Verdes libraries around August 6-9, and an electronic copy will also be posted on this website (www.pvld.mobi/kids) and on the PressFriends website (http://www.pressfriends.org/).
