Synopsis
Oh, la France! Even before the words are articulated, our senses are invaded by sights, sounds, smells that make us nostalgic, and by images of quirky behavior of the French we know and love so much! La belle France: the country of good food, beautiful people, high fashion, and so much more! Avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement of the capital city is the center of it all–art, theatre, haute couture, music, and big names. The drama unfolds as young Jessica, raised by her grandmother, arrives in Paris looking for a job. She lands one quickly at a café on Ave Montaigne called Bar des Théâtres where she encounters the bittersweet characters in this film, cherries atop an ice-cream sundae as it were, looking great sitting amid mounds of crème, but that not everyone wants to savour. It’s all about la crème de la crème!
