The Peninsula Teen Activity Council (PTAC) is a group of teens (age 14-18) who work together to make the library more teen-friendly.
We meet monthly to discuss teen programs at the library such as Teen Read Week, the Teen Summer Reading Program, Pizza & Pages (PVLD’s “Read What You Want” Book Club for teens), Teen Craft Events, Video Game Tournaments, Anime CLub, Movie Nights and more. We also advise the Young Adult Librarian on what new books, magazines and music to buy for the Young Adult section of the library.
PTAC also hosts monthly Kids’ Crafts during the school year for kids in Preschool – Grade 3. We pick themes, prepare craft material and help the kids on the day of the program.
Feel free to drop by, share ideas, and tell us what you, as a teen, want from the library. These are our first steps toward making the library fit your needs.
Want to contribute to your community, meet new people, and earn volunteer service hours? Join PTAC!
Questions? Call the librarian at 377-9584 ext. 205 or email her at lbeebe@pvld.org. Be sure to fill out the volunteer form and bring it in to the Peninsula Center Library if you’re interested in joining PTAC.
